Toyota's breakthrough master-slave telepresence humanoid — T-HR4 enables surgeons and specialists to remotely control a humanoid body with 1kHz haptic force feedback, as if they were physically present. Operating in 120 rural Japanese hospitals via 1ms fiber-optic links, T-HR4 has facilitated 50,000 telesurgery consultations. Japan Ministry of Health approved T-HR4 as a Class III teleoperation medical device — the first humanoid with this designation.
