The fastest, cheapest way into robotics is a simulator. You write the same logic a real robot runs — kinematics, navigation, control — and watch it execute in 3D, with zero hardware to break or buy. Start in the browser to grasp the loop (sense → plan → act), then move to a desktop engine like Gazebo or MuJoCo when you want physics fidelity and ROS 2 integration. Learn to code a robot
Robotics is programming applied to the physical world. Before ROS 2, get fluent in the core concepts — sequencing, loops, conditionals, functions, and recursion — by directing a robot through puzzles. These block-and-code apps teach the exact mental model you will use later to write motion planners and behavior trees. If you already code, skip ahead to Stage 3.
